Country Music
From a medley of country numbers to a touch of 1950s swing — Chris Stapleton to Amy Winehouse, there's something for everyone.
Betsy Faye · Hertfordshire
Country music and folk music of the 1950s and 1960s, sung as it was written to be heard — together with my own songs in a style I call story folk.
An introduction
I am Betsy Faye, a singer and pianist from Hertfordshire. My evenings are devoted to two kinds of music — the country music and the folk music of the 1950s and 1960s — performed close to the microphone and close to the story, in the manner in which they were written.
Woven between them are songs of my own. I call the style story folk: original songs written at the piano I have played since the age of five, each one telling its own story.
“I have been singing since I could talk — some might say the two arrived on the very same day.”
The genres
From a medley of country numbers to a touch of 1950s swing — Chris Stapleton to Amy Winehouse, there's something for everyone.
Folk music from the same era, sung close to the microphone and true to the story — and audience requests from 1955 to 1969 are gladly taken.
My own style — original songs written at the family piano, each one telling its own story.

Music runs in the family — my ancestors made their names in the industry before me, and I intend to keep the piano bench warm for whoever follows. I was raised by a loving and supportive family who never once asked me to stop.
I teach singing online — voices only at present, with no piano tuition. Sessions run from a focused twenty minutes to a full hour, and beginners and returning singers are equally welcome; adult learners especially so, for it is never too late.
